The things that make me different are the things that make me, ME
— Piglet

Hi, I’m Inês!

Welcome to my website! I'm a Registered Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working with individuals, children, youth, and families in various clinical, community, and school-based settings. I'm also a Child and Youth Worker, a student in Self-Reg, and someone who loves creating play and art based activities.

I am passionate about providing therapeutic interventions that support individuals, children and youth find the strategies that best support them through their journey. I've seen firsthand the struggles and hardships that people face, and have had the privilege of witnessing their incredible strength and resilience.

My approach to therapy is rooted in a deep respect for each person's unique journey. My commitment to you is to create a safe enough and compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions, gain insight into your experiences, and develop the skills you need to navigate life's stressors and challenges.

Thank you for considering me as your therapist.

My Approach

I understand that it can be daunting to open up about your personal experiences and emotions. That's why my top priority is to create a safe enough, supportive, and compassionate environment where you can share your story and feel heard.

As a therapist, I specialize in working with individuals, children and youth who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health concerns. I am committed to using evidence-based therapy approaches (i.e., Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to support you along your journey.

When working with children and youth, I will use a combination of evidence-based therapy approaches along with art (i.e., painting) and play (i.e., Lego, video games) activities to support them in addressing a variety of topics such as stress, bullying, self-regulation, and interpersonal relationships.

At the core of my practice is the belief that stress begins with understanding its root causes; understanding the connection between the mind, body and soul. By exploring your experiences and emotions, we can work together to identify personalized coping strategies that work for you.

Get to know me

I love to spend time in nature! The warmer months are my favourite, because I get to spend time near the water while also kayaking, hiking, and cycling.

Last year I started playing pickleball and I’ll admit, I am hooked.

As much as I love to be active, I also really enjoy listening to podcasts, watching movies and binging TV series.

Covid also taught me that playing video games can provide hours of entertainment; and I recently started playing, ‘The Last Campfire’.
